2C:47-7. Cost of Maintenance. The Commissioner shall determine and fix the per capita cost of examining and maintaining any offender upon order of the court pursuant to N.J.S.2C:47-1 and shall furnish a copy of the order to the county treasurer of the county in which the offender has a legal settlement as determined in that order, and upon certification of the amount due, the governing body of the county shall make provisions for payment of one-half of the cost thereof to the Adult Diagnostic and Treatment Center, the remaining one-half to be borne by the State. If the order contains a determination that the offender has no legal settlement in any county, the entire cost shall be borne by the State. L.1978, c.95; amended 1979, c.178, s.104; 1998, c.72, s.4.
