§ 2B:3-1 — Appointment of court clerks

2B:3-1. Appointment of Court Clerks. a. The Supreme Court shall appoint to serve at its pleasure, and shall fix the salary of, the Clerk and a Deputy Clerk of the Supreme Court, neither of whom shall be subject to the provisions of Title 11A, Civil Service, of the New Jersey Statutes. b. The Supreme Court shall appoint to serve at its pleasure, and shall fix the salaries of, the Clerk and Deputy Clerks of the Superior Court and the Clerk and Deputy Clerks of the Appellate Division of the Superior Court, none of whom shall be subject to the provisions of Title 11A, Civil Service, of the New Jersey Statutes unless the Supreme Court directs otherwise. c. The clerks of the Supreme Court, the Superior Court, and the Appellate Division of the Superior Court shall select and employ other necessary assistants in accordance with the provisions of Title 11A, Civil Service, of the New Jersey Statutes.
