§ 2B:21-10 — Unauthorized disclosure of grand jury proceedings

a. Any person who, with the intent to injure another, purposely discloses any information concerning the proceedings of a grand jury, other than as authorized or required by law, commits a crime of the fourth degree. A public officer or employee who is convicted of a violation of this subsection shall be dismissed from public office or employment. b. A person injured as a result of a violation of subsection a. of this section may bring a civil action against the person convicted of the violation. The person convicted shall be liable to the person injured for actual damages, punitive damages of not less than $1,000.00 or more than $100,000.00, reasonable litigation costs and reasonable attorney fees.
