3.In cases where entities choose to provide dependent health benefits coverage to employees' domestic partners pursuant to section 1 of P.L.1979, c.391 (C.18A:16-12) or N.J.S.40A:10-16, such coverage shall continue during the employees' retirement under the provisions of sections 7 and 8 of P.L.1979, c.391 (C.18A:16-18 and C.18A:16-19), N.J.S. 40A:10-22 and N.J.S. 40A:10-23. Nothing in this section shall be construed to limit an entity's right to extend benefits to, or withdraw benefits from, an employee or dependents of an employee. L.2005,c.334,s.3.
