3.
a.A person with cystic fibrosis is eligible for assistance under this act for the purchase of supplemental, nutritious foods and prescription drugs and medical supplies and equipment that are necessary for the treatment of cystic fibrosis, if the person is 18 years of age or older and (1) the person's annual income is less than $30,000; or (2) the person's annual income is $30,000 or greater, but the person has incurred, within the last 12 months, prescription drug and medical supplies and equipment costs related to the treatment of cystic fibrosis, the total cost of which, when deducted from the person's income, reduces the person's income to under $30,000.
