9.A qualified terminally ill patient shall not receive a prescription for medication that the patient may choose to self-administer pursuant to P.L.2019, c.59 (C.26:16-1 et al.) unless the attending physician has recommended that the patient notify the patient's next of kin of the patient's request for medication, except that a patient who declines or is unable to notify the patient's next of kin shall not have the request for medication denied for that reason. L.2019, c.59, s.9.
