Text
19:34-57. If proof be made before any judge of the Superior Court or municipal court of facts constituting probable cause for believing that this Title has been violated, and that any person other than the accused has knowledge of the circumstances connected therewith, such judge shall issue process of subpoena for the appearance of such person before him, to be examined touching the same. The lawful expenses of such subpoena and examination shall be paid by the applicant therefor, and such evidence shall be filed with the clerk of the county, to be used before the grand jury. No such process of subpoena shall be issued or served nor any such examination held on the day of election. Amended 1953, c.19, s.55; 1991,c.91,s.259.
