§ 18A:7B-11 — Garden State school district; continuation of actions or proceedings; reference to mean department of corrections, human services or education; rights and privileges of teaching staff members in state facilities

a. This act shall not affect actions or proceedings, civil or criminal, brought by or against the Garden State School District and pending on the effective date of this act, but such actions may be further prosecuted or defended in the same manner and to the same effect by the Department of Corrections, the Department of Human Services, or the Department of Education, whichever has assumed those duties, powers, and responsibilities which are the subject of the proceedings. b. Whenever in any law, rule, regulation, order, contract, document, judicial or administrative proceedings, or otherwise, reference is made to the Garden State School District, the same shall be considered and mean the Department of Corrections, the Department of Human Services, or the Department of Education, which has assumed those duties, powers, and responsibilities which are the subject of the reference. All rights and privileges enjoyed by teaching staff members of the Garden State School District shall be enjoyed by teaching staff members employed in State facilities. L.1979, c. 207, s. 15, eff.
