18A:71B-4. Academic Year Defined.
a.An academic year for the purpose of this chapter means the period between the time the institution which the student is attending opens after the general summer vacation until the beginning of the next succeeding summer vacation.
b.In case an institution operates on a full calendar-year program, the academic year shall be determined in accordance with rules adopted by the authority, but in no case shall be less than one-fifth of the time required for the completion of a five-year program, or one-fourth of the time required for the four-year program in an institution operating on an academic year as defined in subsection a. of this section. L.1999,c.46,s.1.
