18A:66-113. A member of the pension fund who has 10 years of service credit in the pension fund and who separates voluntarily or involuntarily before attaining the age of 60 years, and not by removal for cause on charges of misconduct or delinquency, may elect to receive a deferred retirement allowance beginning at the age of 60 years, equal to one-forty-fifth of the average annual compensation received by him during any three years of creditable service providing the largest possible benefit multiplied by the number of years of credited service, with optional privileges as provided for in subsection d. of section 18A:66-110. Such member shall advise the board of trustees of his election of such a deferred retirement allowance in writing, and shall complete such forms as shall be specified
