No religious test shall be required as a qualification for employment in any capacity in the public school system of the state or any school or educational institution supported wholly or in part with state funds and no inquiry in regard to his religion shall be made of a person proposed for or seeking such employment and any person violating the provisions of this section shall be guilty of a misdemeanor. L.1967, c.271.
