§ 17:29E-1 — Definitions relative to the Insurance Claims Ombudsman.

47.For the purposes of sections 48 through 61 of this amendatory and supplementary act: "Commissioner" means the Commissioner of Banking and Insurance; "Claim" means any claim filed under a policy of insurance issued pursuant to R.S.17:17-1, P.L.1972, c.70 (C.39:6A-1 et seq.) or any policy of life or health insurance issued pursuant to Title 17 of the Revised Statutes or Title 17B of the New Jersey Statutes; "Insurance" means any contract of direct insurance written pursuant to R.S.17:17-1, P.L.1972, c.70 (C.39:6A-1 et seq.) or any policy of life or health insurance issued pursuant to Title 17 of the Revised Statutes or Title 17B of the New Jersey Statutes; "Ombudsman" means the Insurance Claims Ombudsman appointed pursuant to section 48 of this amendatory and supplementary act.
