Text
a.The name of every credit union incorporated under this act shall contain the words "Credit Union." No name shall be adopted by any credit union which is already in use by another existing credit union of this State or be so similar thereto as to lead to uncertainty or confusion.
b.The use by any person, except corporations established under this act or affiliates or associations thereof, or by federal law or by the laws of another state, of a name or title containing the words "credit union" shall be a crime of the fourth degree. L.1984, c. 171, s. 10, eff. Oct. 31, 1984.
