§ 17:11C-33 — Additional charges prohibited on consumer loan; violations.

New Jersey·Title 17 CORPORATIONS AND INSTITUTIONS FOR FINANCE AND INSURANCE

33. a. In addition to the interest herein provided for on a consumer loan, no further or other charge, or amount whatsoever for any examination, service, brokerage, commission, expense, fee, or bonus or other thing or otherwise shall be directly or indirectly charged, contracted for, or received, except for any amount actually paid by a licensee to a public official for the recording of a security interest in connection with security given for the loan and:

(1)amounts for insurance obtained or provided by the licensee in accordance with the provisions of this act;
(2)on actual sale of the security in foreclosure proceedings or upon the entry of judgment;
(3)a returned check fee in an amount not to exceed $20, which the licensee may charge the borrower if a check of the borrower is retur
