Text

I.The governing bodies of 2 or more municipalities may at their discretion, and shall upon a vote of their respective legislative bodies, create a special unpaid committee to be known as a solid waste management district planning committee, consisting of 3 persons from each municipality appointed by the respective governing bodies. The committee shall elect a chairperson, clerk and treasurer. Members may be reimbursed by the committee for costs of performing duties directly related to committee responsibilities. Any solid waste management district committee formed pursuant to RSA 149-M:24, in existence as of August 8, 1994, may serve as a planning committee under this chapter.
II.The committee may accept funds from any public or private source and may expend money for planning purposes w
