Text

The secretary of state, with the approval of governor and council, shall appoint the director of the division of archives and records management, who shall be known as the state archivist and who shall be an unclassified state employee. The director shall have a minimum of a master's degree in library science, history, or equivalent or 10 years prior experience as an archivist or experience in a related field. The term of office for the state archivist shall be for 4 years. Any vacancy shall be filled for the unexpired term. The salary of the state archivist shall be as specified in RSA 94:1-a.
