§ 5:23 — Assistant Secretary of State; Office Supervisor
New Hampshire·Title I THE STATE AND ITS GOVERNMENT·Ch. 5 DEPARTMENT OF STATE·Subdivision Assistant Secretaries of State
I.The secretary of state may appoint assistant secretaries of state within the limits of the appropriation made for the department of state who shall serve at the pleasure of the secretary of state. The salary of an assistant secretary of state shall be set by the secretary of state in accordance with the provisions of RSA 94:1-4.
II.If there is a vacancy in the office of an assistant secretary of state appointed under paragraph I, the secretary of state may instead appoint an office supervisor in accordance with state personnel rules. The appropriation for the vacant assistant secretary of state position shall be used to fund the position of office supervisor.
