Text

Each town may have a deputy treasurer who shall be qualified in the same manner as the town treasurer and who shall perform all the duties of the town treasurer in case of the treasurer's absence by sickness, resignation, or otherwise. A deputy treasurer shall be appointed by the town treasurer with the approval of the board of selectmen.
