Text

There shall be in the department, assigned to the commissioner's office, a full-time, classified employee with the title of claim representative. He shall be qualified as a certifying officer and possess such other requisite skills, knowledge and abilities as appropriate. His duties shall include advice to claimants relative to presentation of their best case to a certifying officer for purpose of redetermination, and the presentation of, or assistance therein, a claimant's case before an appeal tribunal including request for reopening. There shall also be in the department, but not members of the state classified service, part-time assistant claim representatives who shall be knowledgeable about unemployment compensation, shall be appointed by and serve at the pleasure of the commissioner
