Text
The provisions regarding maximum weight shall not apply to damaged, disabled, or abandoned vehicles being towed by a tow truck for a reasonable distance to the nearest safe haven off the highway, where the weight of each such individual unit does not exceed the maximum legal or permitted weight for the unit under this subdivision. The weight provisions of this subdivision may be further waived for vehicles being towed on a case-by-case basis by special overweight permit.
