Text

I. The department may investigate, upon complaint or on its own initiative, or hold a hearing, after notice, to determine the appropriateness for any common carrier or carrier by motor vehicle transporting persons between points in this state of:

(a)Any filed or proposed rate, fare or charge; or
(b)Any carrier regulation or practice affecting a rate, fare or charge. II. If the department finds that any rate, fare or charge is unjust, unreasonable, unlawful or unjustly discriminatory or unduly preferential or prejudicial, the department may order:
(a)A new rate, fare or charge, including maximum or minimum amounts; or
(b)A new regulation or practice to be followed by the carrier. III. The department shall, after hearing, upon complaint or on its own initiative when it is in the public i
