Text
There is established the department of information technology, an agency of the state, under the executive direction of a commissioner of the department of information technology, who shall also be known as the chief information officer. The department of information technology, through its officials, shall be responsible for managing and coordinating all technology resources in the executive branch of government, developing and implementing strategies to enhance state services, and creating statewide efficiencies through the use of information and other technologies.
