Text

I.Before starting new construction or renovation of buildings and structures as described in RSA 155-A:2, I, the person responsible for such construction shall obtain a permit. [Paragraph II effective until July 1, 2026; see also paragraph II set out below.]
II.In municipalities that have adopted an enforcement mechanism pursuant to RSA 674:51 and RSA 47:22, the permit under this section shall conform to the locally adopted process. No permit shall be issued that would not result in compliance with the state building code and state fire code. [Paragraph II effective July 1, 2026; see also paragraph II set out above.]
