§ 48-683 — Short-time compensation program; department; funding; report

(1)The department shall not use General Funds to implement
the short-time compensation program. The department shall use any and all
available federal funds to implement the short-time compensation program,
including, but not limited to, federal funds distributed to the state under
sections 903(c), 903(d), 903(f), and 903(g) of the federal Social Security
Act, as amended.
(2)The department
shall submit an annual report to the Governor and electronically to the Legislature
on the short-time compensation program trends, including the number of employers
filing short-time compensation program plans, the number of layoffs averted
through the use of the short-time compensation program, the amount of short-time
compensation program benefits paid, and other information pertinent to the
