Text
Any person who receives public funds for the discharge of a public duty in excess of the
amounts allowed by law is, thirty days after a demand for a return of such excess amounts has
been made by the attorney general, subject to a civil suit to be brought by the attorney general
for the recovery of the amount received in excess of that lawfully allowed.
