If livestock is brought into this state in violation of this chapter or contrary to any rule of the
state board of animal health, the state veterinarian or other accredited agent of the
commissioner shall notify the state's attorney of the county into which the livestock has been
brought. Immediately upon receiving the notice, the state's attorney shall bring an action against
any person charged with bringing, transporting, or importing livestock contrary to this chapter or
any rule of the state board of animal health.
