When damages have been awarded by the special board, the board of county commissioners shall pay or cause to be paid to the clerk of the district court, for the benefit of the persons interested, the sum awarded by said board, said amount to be paid in cash. Every owner entitled to such an award, before receiving the same, shall execute a receipt, to be received by the clerk of said district court, containing a description of the premises covered by said award and an acknowledgment of full and complete satisfaction for all damages sustained. In case the owner fails or refuses to accept such award and execute such receipt within ten days after being notified of the amount awarded to the owner, the clerk of the court to whom said amount has been paid shall execute a receipt reciting a deposi
