§ 45-8-359 — Remedy For Violations
45-8-359 . Remedy for violations. Any person that suffers deprivation of rights enumerated under 45-8-353 through 45-8-358 has a cause of action against any governmental entity, as defined in 2-9-101 .The cause of action must be filed in district court. If a person asserting a deprivation of rights prevails, the person may be awarded reasonable costs, attorney fees, and damages.
