40-5-243 . Release of excess to obligor. If any person, firm, corporation, association, political subdivision, or department of the state has in its possession earnings, deposits, accounts, or balances in excess of the amount of the debt claimed by the department plus $100, that person or entity may release the excess to the obligor without liability under this part.
