33-32-412 . External review of adverse determinations for experimental or investigational treatment -- expedited external review.

(1)Within 120 days after the date when a covered person or, if applicable, the covered person's authorized representative receives notice pursuant to 33-32-403 of an adverse determination or final adverse determination that involves a denial of coverage because a health insurance issuer determined that the health care service or treatment recommended or requested is experimental or investigational, the covered person or the covered person's authorized representative may file a request for an external review with the health insurance issuer.
