53-30-311 . Community corrections facilities and programs operated by units of local government.

(1)A unit of local government may establish, maintain, and operate any community corrections facilities and programs that it considers necessary to serve its own needs or the needs of offenders who are sentenced to the facility or program by a judge as provided in 53-30-321 .
(2)A unit of local government may enter into a contract or agreement with the department for the purpose of providing community corrections facilities and programs for offenders.
