§ 39-29-101 — Definitions

39-29-101 . Definitions. For the purposes of this chapter, the following definitions apply:

(1)"Armed forces" means the:
(a)United States army, marine corps, navy, air force, space force, and coast guard;
(b)merchant marine for service recognized by the United States department of defense as active military service for the purpose of laws administered by the department of veterans affairs; and
(c)Montana army and air national guard.
(2)"Disabled veteran" means a person:
(a)whether or not the person is a veteran who was separated under honorable conditions from military duty in the armed forces and has established the present existence of a service-connected disability or is receiving compensation, disability retirement benefits, or a pension because of a law administered by the depar
