§ 5-2-104 — Appointment To Or Candidacy For Other Offices
5-2-104 . Appointment to or candidacy for other offices.
(1)A member of the legislature may not, during the term for which the member was elected, be appointed to any civil office under the state. A member of the legislature may become a candidate for public office during the legislator's term.
(2)A member of the legislature who is elected to another public office shall resign from the legislature prior to assuming the office to which the member is newly elected.
