19-19-201 . Local boards of trustees of funds.

(1)Each city or town that has a police retirement fund must have a board of trustees of the fund, except as provided in subsection (4).
(2)A board of trustees existing under subsection (1) must consist of the mayor, clerk, and attorney of the city or town and two members from the active list of police officers of the city or town.
(3)The two trustees who are also police officers shall serve terms of 2 years. They must be selected by a majority vote of the members of the police department on the active list of the city or town. One must be selected each year between May 1 and May 10, so that their terms are staggered. Immediately after the selection has been made, a certificate of election must be certified to the city clerk by the presiding
