7-13-4102 . Authority to acquire natural gas system -- indebtedness permitted.

(1)The city or town council has power to contract an indebtedness of a city or town upon the credit thereof by borrowing money or issuing bonds for the construction, purchase, or development of an adequate supply of natural gas and to construct or purchase a system of gaslines for the distribution thereof to the inhabitants of the city or town or vicinity.
(2)No money may be borrowed or bonds issued for the purposes specified in this section until the proposition has been submitted to the vote of the taxpayers of the city or town affected thereby and the majority vote cast in its favor.
