5-1-202 . Electronic record.

(1)Within 6 months of July 1, 2023, the department shall collect and maintain an electronic record of the last known address and other demographic data for an individual entering the department's custody. The record must include but is not limited to:
(a)the individual's last known address;
(b)the individual's race, whether the person is an American Indian or an Alaska Native, and whether the person is of Hispanic or Latino origin; and
(c)if the individual is 18 years of age or older.
(2)To the extent possible, the department shall collect and maintain the information required in subsection (1) for individuals in state prisons who entered the department's custody prior to July 1, 2023.
