§ 33-1-1506 — Theft Of Medical Care Discount Card Fee

33-1-1506 . Theft of medical care discount card fee.

(1)A person commits the offense of theft of medical care discount card fee when the person purposely or knowingly obtains or exerts unauthorized control over any amount of money paid by a user or consumer to a health care provider, a medical care discount card provider, or a medical care discount card supplier for a medical care discount card.
(2)For purposes of this section, "medical care discount card", "health care provider", and "medical care discount card provider" have the meanings provided in 33-38-102 .
(3)(a) A person convicted of theft of medical care discount card fee involving a value not exceeding $1,500 shall be fined not more than $1,500 or be imprisoned in the county detention center for not more than 6 months, or both
