§ 23-1-121 — Park Rangers -- Qualifications -- Powers And Duties
23-1-121 . Park rangers -- qualifications -- powers and duties.
(1)The department is authorized to establish a corps of park rangers and to select and appoint park rangers who must be qualified by their experience, training, skill, and interest in the protection, conservation, and stewardship of the natural and cultural resources and parks administered by the department.
(2)Park rangers shall:
(a)enforce the laws of this state and the rules of the department and the board that provide for the protection, conservation, and stewardship of the natural and cultural resources in the state parks system;
(b)protect campers, picnickers, and other park users;
(c)keep the peace;
(d)supervise public use;
(e)maintain public order in all units of the state parks system; and
(f)perform all other
