Text
1. There is hereby created the "Missouri Law Enforcement Assistance Program" within the department of public safety. 2. The purpose of this program is to provide state financial and technical assistance to create or improve local law enforcement pilot programs that may include:
(1)Reimbursement for overtime required to enhance specialized, nonroutine training opportunities;
(2)Analytical capacity for targeting enforcement efforts; and
(3)Community policing efforts derived from research-based models.
3. Distribution of state funds or technical assistance shall be by contractual arrangement between the department and each recipient law enforcement agency. Terms of the contract shall be negotiable each year. The state auditor shall periodically audit all law enforcement agenci
