Every savings and loan association or savings association subject to the provisions of this chapter may for a fee or other consideration receive upon deposit for safekeeping personal property of every description, and own or control a safety vault and rent the boxes therein.  For purposes of sections 369.191 to 369.212 , the term "association" means any savings and loan association or savings association subject to the provisions of this chapter.
