Notwithstanding the provisions of sections 324.125 to 324.183 , prior to but not beyond January 1, 2001, a person is eligible to make application to the board and receive a license, if the person is actively engaged in the practice of perfusion consistent with sections 324.125 to 324.183 and if the person meets one of the following requirements:
(1)The person, on August 28, 1997, was operating cardiopulmonary bypass systems during cardiac surgical cases in a licensed health care facility as the person's primary function and had been operating the systems for at least the immediately preceding eight years; or
(2)The person has at least six years experience, within the last eight years, operating cardiopulmonary bypass systems during cardiac surgical cases in a licensed health care fac
