Text

Producers of agricultural commodities are hereby authorized to organize commodity merchandising councils to establish orderly, fair, sound and efficient markets and to maintain, develop and expand markets for agricultural commodities produced in Missouri and to increase the use and consumption of these products.  The councils organized under the provisions of sections 275.300 to 275.370 and with the aid of the state may:

(1)Provide for uniform and proper preparation of agricultural commodities for market;
(2)Provide means and methods for the maintenance of present markets and for development of new or larger markets, both domestic and foreign, for agricultural commodities produced within the state;
(3)Eliminate or reduce waste in the marketing or use,  or both, of agricultural com
