The department of natural resources shall produce, print and distribute the notices required by section 260.262 to all places where lead-acid batteries are offered for sale at retail. In performing its duties under this section, the department may inspect any place, building or premises governed by sections 260.260 to 260.266 . The department may enter into an interagency agreement with the superintendent of the highway patrol to authorize the superintendent to conduct inspections at motor vehicle safety inspection stations in conjunction with inspections undertaken pursuant to sections 307.350 to 307.400 .
