The clerk of the circuit court shall docket any appeal, styling the appellant the plaintiff and the drainage district the defendant, and the cause shall stand for trial and be tried as other appeal cases are tried in the circuit court. After the trial and judgment in the circuit court, the clerk of that court shall retain the transcript of the proceedings in the county commission and retransmit to the county clerk all of the original papers filed in his office by the county clerk, together with a transcript of the proceedings had in the circuit court, including a certified copy of the finding or verdict and the judgment of the said court; the clerk of the circuit court shall also certify an itemized statement of the cost accruing on the appeal, and such costs shall be paid as provided in
