Text

The management, governance, and control of moneys appropriated from the life sciences research trust fund shall be vested in the "Life Sciences Research Board" which is hereby created in the department of economic development as a type III agency and which shall consist of seven members.  The following provisions shall apply to the life sciences research board and its members:

(1)Each member shall be appointed by the governor with the advice and consent of the senate pursuant to the procedures herein set forth for a term of four years; except that, of the initial members of the board appointed, three shall be appointed for two-year terms and four shall be appointed to four-year terms;
(2)The members of the board shall be generally familiar with the life sciences and current research
