1.The board of directors of any metropolitan zoo district, as established pursuant to the provisions of section 184.600 , on behalf of the district may request the election officials of the city to submit a proposition to increase the maximum tax rate for the district set in section 184.600 , to the qualified voters of such district at any general or primary or special election. Such election officials shall give legal notice as provided in chapter 115 .

2.Such proposition shall be submitted to the voters in substantially the following form at such election:

The results of the election shall be certified by the election officials of the city not less than thirty days after the day on which such election was held. In the event the proposition fails to receive a majority of the votes "YES" in the district, then such proposition shall not be resubmitted at any election held within one year of the date of the election at which such proposition was rejected.
