Every association or organization, which is not a corporation or trust organized under the laws of this state, or any other state, which accepts membership dues or fees shall be subject to service of process against it and each of its members, collectively or individually, in any action arising out of or in respect to the member's participation in or on behalf of such association or organization, by delivering a copy of the summons with a copy of the petition attached to the secretary of state at his office, or in his absence to the chief clerk of the secretary of state at his office, and such service shall be sufficient service upon such association.  A copy of the summons and petition shall be delivered by registered mail by the chief clerk of the secretary of state to the last known add
