Subdivision 1.Acquiring for state use and development. The commissioner may acquire administrative sites or rights-of-way by eminent domain, in the manner provided by law, or by purchase any lands or interest in lands in the state forests as created by law, which the commissioner deems necessary for state use, and development. Subd. 2.Acquiring for state forests. The commissioner may acquire lands or interest in lands for state forest purposes. The land or interests in land may be subject to mineral reservations. Subd. 3.Leases for forestry purposes. The commissioner may lease any land which the commissioner deems necessary for use for buildings, lookout towers, or other facilities for forestry purposes for such period as deemed necessary.
