Subdivision 1.Coordination. In carrying out the responsibilities of this chapter, the commissioner of health shall ensure that the activities and data collection are implemented in an integrated and coordinated manner that avoids unnecessary duplication of effort. To the extent possible, the commissioner shall use existing data sources and implement methods to streamline data collection in order to reduce public and private sector administrative costs. Subd. 2.Legislative oversight. Beginning January 15, 2009, the commissioner of health shall submit to the chairs and ranking minority members of the legislative committees with jurisdiction over health care policy and finance periodic progress reports on the implementation of this chapter and sections62U.03and256B.0753to256B.0754.
