Subdivision 1.Establishment. The commissioner of commerce shall establish the Prescription Drug Affordability Board, which shall be governed as a board under section15.012, paragraph (a), to protect consumers, state and local governments, health plan companies, providers, pharmacies, and other health care system stakeholders from unaffordable costs of certain prescription drugs. Subd. 2.Membership.

(a)The Prescription Drug Affordability Board consists of nine members appointed as follows:
(1)seven voting members appointed by the governor;
(2)one nonvoting member appointed by the majority leader of the senate; and
(3)one nonvoting member appointed by the speaker of the house.
